OPM

The 1980s stands as a golden era in music history, and Original Pilipino Music defined that decade with unmatched melodic brilliance, heartfelt lyricism, and iconic vocal power. Remembering: OPM In The 80's captures this magic on a single, rare compilation housed in a very good to excellent digipak.

This 18-track collection gathers the era's definitive balladeers, pop icons, and rare stylistic gems. Martin Nievera opens with emotional intensity ("Please Don't Throw My Love Away", "Each Day With You"), while Ric Segreto ("Don't Know What To Do, Don't Know What To Say", "Give Me A Chance") and Jam Morales ("Smile In Your Heart", "Even If") deliver timeless soft-rock-infused ballads. The compilation also features early brilliance from Regine Velasquez (credited as Chona Cruz on "I'm Feeling Sexy Tonight" and performing "Promdi"), alongside buoyant Manila sound and pop anthems from Randy Santiago ("Babaero", "Hindi Magbabago") and Zsa Zsa Padilla ("Mambobola").

Rounding out the tracklist are unforgettable cuts by Odette Quesada, Raymond Lauchengco, Pops Fernandez, Neocolours, Louie Heredia, and Jo Anne Lorenzana. Essential for collectors and lovers of classic Filipino pop, this disc proves why 80s OPM remains peerless.
